Works — books, films, albums, articles, and files — with the people who made them.

Describing a work

  • Title, work type (book, film, album, article, file…), and an optional year.
  • A description in light markdown, plus any number of reference URLs.

Contributors

  • Link catalog sources with a role: author, producer, creator, director, editor, or other.
  • A quote can point at a work, so the passage carries both the speaker and the work it came from.

Browsing

  • The rail has By tag and By creator (catalog sources who made works), plus Mine and +.
  • Dice and clock are a random work or the newest list. Compose stays behind plus.

Who can do what

  • Create: any signed-in member, like sources. The media LDAP groups are for moderation.
  • Edit: the author, or media mods. Delete: media mods and hub.

Who can see it

  • Public — everyone, signed in or not.
  • Members — anyone signed in on this origin. Guests get a login prompt.
  • Unpublished — you and the kind’s mods. Guests get a plain 404, so nothing leaks.
  • New items default to public. You can change it any time unless a mod locks it.
