• Blog — Blog posts. List at /blogs.
• Quotes — Quotations, with optional catalog source and media cites.
• Polls — Member polls.
• Sources — Citeable people and orgs (not LDAP accounts).
• Media — A work (title, year, creators).
• Torrents — Torrents
• Chat — One-origin chat. Members see it when chat is in the ceiling; guests only when public-on.
• Menu — On a phone-width rail page (below 480px), opens the left rail drawer. Left side only; it does not replace the logo. Kind/help/tags/account icons stay on the right. The wordmark lives in leftover space left of the nav cluster (object-contain, left-aligned) and only disappears if that pocket is under ~40px. Wide pool files scale down; they are not cropped.
• Tags — Tag catalog (/tags). Left rail: letters, random/latest, kind glyphs (always), then tags with counts. Landing is a random tag; clock lists the catalog. Detail is /tags/:slug.
• Help — Help hub — a page per kind, plus the icon glossary and markdown cheatsheet. Soft-primary when you are under /help. On a kind list (and quote detail), the same glyph opens a non-modal slideover so you can keep using the page.
• PM — Private messages. Signed-in only. Chip throbs when you have unread.
• Admin — Hub admin (taxonomy, kinds, people). Hub only.
• Settings — Your avatar opens a non-modal right slideover (account and appearance). Rail and main stay usable; close with X or the avatar again. Full page remains /settings. Kind prefs (Quotes, Blogs, Polls, Chat) use the gear beside that kind’s help control.
• Sign in — Open the login page. Person glyph — not the door “sign out” arrow.
• Sign out — End your session (arrow leaving a door).
• All users — Blogs rail tab — authors who have posts you can see. Click an author to filter the list.
• Your posts — Blogs rail tab — your posts as links. Same glyph as Sign in on the header; context is the rail.
• New post — Blogs rail Mine tab — toggles the compose form on /blogs?mine=1. Soft-primary while compose is open. Shown only when the viewer can create posts; otherwise the Users/Mine control is hidden.
• By tag — Quotes rail tab — tags with quotes you can see. Click to filter the main list.
• By source — Quotes rail tab — catalog people/orgs with quotes, plus Unattributed. Click to filter the main list.
• Random — Kind rails — same row as Latest. Clears filters and opens the random spotlight (`?pick=random`). Click again for another random draw. Soft when that land mode is active. Polls skip ones you already voted on.
• Latest — Kind rails — same row as Random. Clears filters and shows the newest-first list (`?pick=latest`). Click again to refresh the list. Soft when that land mode is active. Polls skip ones you already voted on.
• New quote — Quotes rail — toggles the compose form on /quotes. Soft-primary while compose is open. Requires quote create access.
• By tag — Polls rail tab — tags with polls you can see. Click to filter the main list (`?topic=`). Same tags glyph as Quotes By tag.
• All users — Polls rail tab — authors who have polls you can see (`?users=1`). Click an author to expand their polls. Same users glyph as the blogs All-users tab.
• Mine — Polls rail tab — your polls as links (`?mine=1`). Shown only when the viewer can create polls.
• New poll — Polls rail Mine tab — toggles the compose form on /polls?mine=1. Soft-primary while compose is open. Requires poll create access.
• Another quote — Quotes (or blogs) random landing — picks another random item for the spotlight.
• Share quote — On every quote card (list, spotlight) and on detail — copies (or native-shares on phone) the public permalink /q/{id}. That page shows the quote and image variants (PNG/SVG/…). Guests and members alike.
• Bookmark quote — Signed-in. Saves a quote to your list. Random quote landing draws from that list when it is nonempty; otherwise from the whole catalog. Soft/check when bookmarked.
• Like — Posts, quotes, sources, and comments. Signed-in. Click again to clear. Counts are public; your own mark is highlighted.
• Dislike — Posts, quotes, sources, and comments. Signed-in. Click again to clear.
• RSS — Public blog feed. All posts: /rss/blogs.xml. One tag: /rss/tag/{tag} or /rss/blogs.xml?tag=. Guests and members see the same public-only channel.
• Kind settings — On Quotes, Blogs, Polls, Tags, and Chat — beside the help glyph. Opens a non-modal prefs slideover (landing random vs newest list, quote tags, tags empty, chat display). Soft while open.
• Markdown help — Non-modal cheatsheet slideover on a post (and in compose). Full page remains /help/markdown.
• ASCII / UTF-8 art — Chat compose and edit — next to Send. Soft while on. That message is monospace (Noto/DejaVu), spaces kept, no markdown. Blog posts use a fenced ```art (or ascii / utf8) block instead of this glyph.
• Edit — Edit the current item. Soft-primary while the editor is open; becomes an X to close. On filtered quote cards (and the spotlight when you may edit), top-right beside delete — opens the detail editor.
• Delete — Delete the current item (mods/hub). Confirms first. Same glyph on quote cards you may delete.
• Public — Visibility — everyone, including guests. Icon opens a menu to switch unpublished / members / public.
• Members — Visibility — signed-in only. Same users glyph as the blogs All-users rail tab; context is the item toolbar.
• Unpublished — Visibility — author and kind mods only. Soft when not public or when locked.
